East Nicolaus Jr. Spartans - Our Story
The East Nicolaus Jr. Spartans were founded in 2014 by a dedicated group of Plumas Lake parents who saw a growing need for additional youth football and cheer opportunities. With nearby programs reaching capacity, families in Plumas Lake, East Nicolaus, Rio Oso, and Pleasant Grove needed another option—one that ensured every child had a chance to participate. From this vision, the original Plumas Lake Jr. Spartans were born.
As members of the Independent Sports Alliance of California League, we have been fortunate to receive the generous support of the East Nicolaus community. In 2017, we strengthened our bond with East Nicolaus High School by officially affiliating our youth program with theirs. With this partnership, we rebranded as the East Nicolaus Jr. Spartans and proudly made their facilities our home. The high school’s support has played a vital role in our organization’s continued growth and success.
Looking ahead, the East Nicolaus Jr. Spartans remain committed to serving the South Yuba and Sutter communities. Our mission is to develop future leaders by teaching the fundamentals of football and cheer in a fun, safe, and team-oriented environment. We emphasize hard work, dedication, and the true meaning of teamwork. With strong, positive leadership from within our community, we stand by our guiding principle: "We do it for the kids."
